Personalization & Engraving

Most of what we make can carry your initials, a name, or a short message. It is done by hand before the piece is assembled, which is why we ask you to get the spelling right the first time.

How the marking is made

  • Foil stamping. Heated brass type presses metallic foil into the leather. Available in gold and silver. It reads clearly from across a room and suits darker hides.
  • Blind deboss. The same press without foil, leaving a clean recessed impression in the leather's own colour. Quieter, and the choice most of our customers make on exotic skins.
  • Heat stamping. Used on some pieces, particularly passport covers, where the leather takes a deep impression without foil.

Which method is available depends on the leather and the piece. Thin lizard takes a lighter impression than dense alligator. If you have a preference, say so at checkout and we will confirm before production starts.

Fonts

Our standard faces are Times New Roman and a classic serif. If you want something else, ask, and we will tell you whether we have the type for it.

How much text fits

It depends on the piece, and each product page states its own limit.

  • Clutches and small accessories are usually limited to around four characters, including spaces and full stops, stamped near the closure.
  • Passport covers and larger flat panels have no fixed character limit. A name, initials, or a short line of text all work.
  • Money clip wallets and card holders carry a name or initials inside or on the back panel.
  • Bag charms and keychains are built around a single letter, chosen when you order.

Placement

Placement is flexible on most pieces, and where it is not, the product page says so. Tell us where you want it in the personalization box. If you leave it blank we will use the standard position for that design.

Ordering personalization

  1. Add the piece to your cart and fill in the personalization box at checkout.
  2. Write the text exactly as you want it to appear, including capitalisation and punctuation. We apply it character for character.
  3. Add your preferred finish (gold, silver or blind deboss) and placement if the piece allows a choice.
  4. We message you to confirm the styling before we start, so there is a checkpoint before anything is pressed.

Before you order, please note

Personalized pieces cannot be returned, because a wallet marked with someone else's initials cannot be resold. This is the one part of our returns policy worth reading twice. Faults, damage in transit and mistakes on our side are always covered.

A monogrammed piece is the reason most of our customers find us, and a letter charm or engraved card holder makes a straightforward gift.
